I’m very much a child of the 80′s. I love the film, fashion and style of that time because that’s when I was a teenager.

Fashion tends to recycle and I often find that amusing. Never more so than lately. The 80′s fashions have been back in bits and pieces over the last couple of decades.

Last weekend we were out in Branson at the outlet malls. While waiting for my lovely wife to come out of a particular store I was walking up and down with the kids in a stroller. As I was walking I noticed a couple of young ladies heading my way. On their faces were none other than the slat sun glasses so popular in the 80′s they were even white.

On their legs were extremely colorful long long socks. Straight out of a trendy 80′s movie. Perhaps not quite as neon as the girls were wearing in “the Day” but colorful and long none the less.

I must admit it’s a little on the strange side seeing the fashions that I grew up with coming back. I guess a part of the weirdness comes from seeing it on girls I now see as far too young, where as back in the day they were the girls I was lusting after.

I wonder if I’ll be in the market soon for a bright blue suit with skinny lapels and an equally skinny black leather tie. Or even better a knit pink tie, and yes I did used to have one of those.

A quick online search, btw, shows that the sun glasses in question are call “Grill Glasses”
