While browsing www.news.com.au this morning for my usual dose of news from home, I came across an interesting article that was too good not to follow up on.

From James Gunn and his brothers, that brought you Disaster Movie comes a new web movie series for lovers of Porn. Ok so where I say lovers, I mean those of us who love the cheesiness of porn. The crappy music, bad lighting, awful acting and generally pornness of Adult Movies. ( Yes I did just make up that word )

They are taking movie/ TV actors and pairing them with well known Adult Stars and making short movies without the sex. You get all the cheese, hold the nudity, with heaping’s of plot twists and comedy.

The first webisode is online now and you can view it HERE, it features Aria Giovani from Andrew Blake movie fame and Nathan Fillion from Firefly and Desperate Housewives fame. The webisode is called "Nailing Your Wife" and the "Plot" revolves around a typical porn story of a housewife coming home to meet her husband only to find him not home and a handsome handyman working up a sweat. You’ll have to watch it as I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise.

I enjoyed it immensely and laughed out right a few times. There is also a series of interviews with the director and Aria Giovani that were fun and talked about how the series came about and what’s to come.

It sounds like they have several more already in the can and I’m looking forward to seeing them as they’re released.

Written in the 30′s, the Richest Man in Babylon is as relevant today as it has ever been. Told in the manner of Fables and tales of ancient babylon, it describes really well the nature of money and how to keep it.

In simple terms it outlays how you can keep aside a little, and by living within your means, secure enough to invest. That investment should grow and be reinvested so that it becomes a living thing. Your investment will grow and your money will work for you so that you may, at some point, be able to work at helping your money work for you.

While not a very large book, it’s teaching is invaluable and it is one of only a handful of books that will sit on my desk in full view, so that I can pick it up and browse it’s short stories periodically to remind me that it is the small things done consistantly that build wealth.

Wealth is gained gradually and by doing the right things consistently.

I’m always on the lookout for new books to read and new ways of doing things. A lot of what I’m doing at the moment revolves around Internet Marketing (IM). Jeffrey Gitomer is a sales guy and more than that he is a teacher of sales guys and gals. I have a few of his books now and they are very entertaining reading.

The little black book of connections deals with one of the most powerful ways of getting anything done, Networks. No I don’t mean TCP/IP stacks, but people networks. This book, while to some extent focuses on selling yourself at conferences, has a far wider reach.

I have received my best job offers through networks, business deals and partnerships happen mostly through networks. So much happens with friends dealing with friends that you cannot discount the power of a good network. Jeffrey shows in easy steps how to get yourself out there and more so, how to get people to start coming to you.

It’s a very entertaining read and Jeffrey offers a heap of extra material that is available through his website.

Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki came together through The Learning Annex where both were speakers.

Among other things it shows the power of networking. Through a chance meeting two teachers started to think of a book they could write together. They both are involved in Real Estate, but at vastly different levels. Robert buys apartment buildings and commercial properties, Donald Trump builds skyscapers and multi million dollar developments.

� They decided to write a book that discusses the current state of the world and what folks can do to ensure they’re own security. As baby boomers age and retire over the next few years, social security, medicare and medicaid aren’t likely to cope. If you are around my age, 35 as of today, chances are if you can’t take care of your own retirement you will be below the poverty line.

� 401k’s were designed for CEO’s and those on super high salaries, not for the average joe. What does this mean? Simply that as the 401k is a savings plan, unless you can pump A LOT of money into one over your working life you will not have enough to retire on.

� It is up to you to ensure your future, find your strengths and work with them so that your financial IQ is sufficent to see you through a future where the government can not be sure to take care of you.

� The book is more interactive than a lot of similar books and isn’t all doom and gloom. It has activities at the end of each chapter where you can note down your own experiences and learn from them.

It’s moral is that you can rely on yourself to get you through and that everyone should be taking an interest in their own financial learning. While not taught in schools, everyone should take an interest in how money works. Take a little time each week to read a book/ attend a seminar or network with like minded people.

I know it has re ignited my own thirst for knowledge and I am making a concerted effort to learn more while making new efforts to build my businesses.

I’ve just finished reading “Think and grow rich” by Napoleon Hill. It sure is a mind opening book.

We’ve all read motivational books on positive thinking, self motivation and getting ahead. What I didn’t realise until recently was that most of these works seem to by derivitive

of this work written over 60 years ago. It was first published in 1938 after 20 odd years of research done my Mr Hill.

Napoleon Hill was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie, a millionaire steel baron, to interview and research the secrets of the rich and successful. The result was a handbook with the ideas, tips and strategies of how to achieve. Not on how to achieve riches although that is certainly possible, but how to achieve any goal you can dream.
I heartily recommend this to anyone wishing to be more than they currently are.

A large part of it, is the setting of goals and writing them down where you can see them morning and night. Allowing your sub conscious to work out how to achieve the goals.
